Officials recently released their ratings of 178 districts throughout the state. The report, which is the first of its type in Colorado, was developed with the help of a new accreditation system, which was outlined in the Education Accountability Act of 2009.

Within the rating system, the 178 districts as well as the Boards of Cooperative Educational Services (BOCES), the Charter School Institute and the Colorado School for the Deaf and the Blind were rated. The districts and organizations received one of 5 ratings. The ratings break down as follows:

  • 14 districts (8%) achieved the highest rating possible. To achieve this rating, the districts must have met or exceeded statewide performance indicators. Schools included on this list were Aspen,

According to two recent reports, Denver is the ninth-best city for job seekers in the United States. The first report, which was released by the career search engine Juju.com, found that Denver was the ninth best city out of 50 large cities in the country. The other report, which was released by the job-search portal CareerCast.com, also ranked the Mile High City in the number nine position.

Denver’s ninth place ranking with the Juju report does represent a slight drop, as the city was in the number eight position in October and even climbed its way into the number seven spot in September. Back in July and August, however, the city had reached its annual low of number 11. Still, despite its slight ups and downs, the city has continually held strong among
