It's nothing new for the city of Denver to receive awards. The city is recognized many times throughout the year for many different reasons. Once again, Denver has received an award.

Recently, Denver was named as a Walk Friendly Community by the Pedestrian and Bicycle Information Center. This is a national clearing house full of information about communities for cyclists and pedestrians. It's found within the University of North Carolina Highway Safety Research Center.

Due to the work the city of Denver has done to become more pedestrian friendly, WFP awarded the city a gold level designation. Many of the changes made to the city address safety concerns, accessibility, mobility and comfort for residents.

On April 22nd the 44th Annual Earth Day celebration will happen throughout the city of Denver. This will be the date for the Earth Day Fair and many other events will happen, as well. Earth Day Fair 2014

From 10am to 2pm on Tuesday, April 22nd, the City & County of Denver will hold the annual Earth Day Fair. This year it will be held at the Wellington Webb Municipal Building found at 201 West Colfax Avenue. Plenty of exhibitors will be on hand providing residents with ways to reduce waste, recycle and tackle important environmental issues.
