Things To Look For In Luxury Condos In Colorado

Posted by TheHomeCartTeam on Wednesday, June 27th, 2012 at 12:01am.

Buying luxury condos in any area requires some careful planning on the part of the buyer. Careful planning will help ensure that the buyer is getting everything he or she dreams of when thinking of the word luxury because the word can have very different meaning for different people. Before you start looking at luxury condos in Colorado, taking the time to consider these three tips will save a lot of hassle and time wasted on looking at the wrong places.

First, define what luxury means to you. Most often people think of luxury as being upscale everything in the condo. Buyers should make a list of what exactly defines a luxury condo. This might include hardwood floors or high end carpeting, and things like granite countertops and top-of-the-line appliances in the kitchen. The easiest way to make this list is to go room by room through the condo of your dreams and list what makes it that way:
Living room: Does it have carpet, tile, or hardwood floors? Does it have a fireplace or other special feature? Does it have vaulted or tall ceilings? Are the window molding made from wood and what kind of blinds and custom window treatments? Is there lighting and what kind is it?

Kitchen: What appliances should there be: refrigerator, freezer, dishwasher, garbage disposal, trash compactor, wine cooler? Should the appliances be from a certain manufacturer? What should the countertops be made from: tile, granite, marble? Should the kitchen be part of the living space in an open floor plan?
Bedrooms: How large should the bedrooms be? What kind of flooring should there be? Should every bedroom have an en suite? What about closet space?

Bathrooms: What kind of flooring and countertops should there be in the bathrooms? Should the bath have a separate water closet? Should there be a special tub? Special showerheads?

While these are the questions that everyone buying any condo should be considering, they are much more important for people considering buying luxury condos in Colorado because there are so many properties to choose from. This will help buyers and their agents narrow down the list of acceptable properties to consider. After these considerations, buyers might also want to think about a few other things when considering luxury condos in Colorado.

Does the condo have a home owner’s association and what are the rules, regulations, and costs of the HOA? Most condos do have an association of some kind and understanding the association and rules will help buyers make a buying choice.

Where is the condo located? Although most luxury condos in Colorado are located in high end neighborhoods, there are other things to consider like access to local hiking trails and parks, as well as access to theater, arts, and museums. There are plenty of these everywhere in the state, but knowing if they are in walking distance can greatly increase the desirability of some luxury condos for some buyers.

If you are looking for luxury condos in Colorado, there are plenty of locations to choose from, it just comes down to deciding what is important to you.
