Sloan thought he’d dig a well on the north end of his farm. He hit an underground spring instead. The 200-acre flood that covered his farmland became one of Denver Parks & Rec’s Sloan’s Lake, and the remaining areas around the “water's edge” began to grow into a community. This recreation area offers p walking trails, picnic areas and a playgrounds. Boating is popular, and fishing is allowed from the shore.
