A good deal of the Glendale’s's limited space is devoted to the commercial development of both office and residential high-rise space. The majority of dwellings are reasonably priced apartments, condominiums, and townhomes. Housing in Glendale is both high density, and high quality.

Located in Arapahoe County, Glendale’s 355 acres, this is a high-density community, with nearly 100 percent of the population in multi-family housing (there are only three single-family residences in the City). About 90 percent of residents are renters occupying the City’s more than 2,000 apartments. The remaining residents own the 300-plus condominium and townhouse units in the City.

Completely surrounded by the City and County of Denver, Glendale's central location offers easyaccess to exciting retail and entertainment opportunities. The residents feel it's the kind of community where it's easy to get to know your neighbor. They value the City's "Urban Village" feeling.

From a rest stop and watering hole on the major stagecoach route along the Cherry Creek Trail in the 1800s, Glendale has become a city with a rich tradition of hospitality, vitality and amenities for residents and visitors alike. Both enjoy the City’s 35 acres of parks and open space, especially the Cherry Creek Trail that is popular with walkers, bikers and skateboarders. The City is renowned for its spectacular annual July fireworks show, which draws thousands of people and hundreds of corporate parties each year.

With 35 acres of well maintained parks and open space, and an active city government, this small municipality, perhaps better described as a large village, is well known for its young, educated and diverse population who, more often than not, work in Denver, and enjoy an enviably short commute.

Glendale, a unique community of 4,527 residents, celebrated its 53rd birthday on May 22, 2005.
