The Community of Golden Triangle

Formed by the gathering of Speer Boulevard, Colfax and Broadway, three of three of the city’s most important transportation corridors, the Golden Triangle is domicile to Denver’s finest museums and cultural institutions, not the least of which include the Denver Art Museum, the Denver Central Library, and the U.S. Mint. This area is one of Denver’s oldest, and arguably its most important neighborhood. Today, the business district of South Broadway, and the popular recreational trails along Cherry Creek have added to the allure of this cultural complex, as it moves cautiously into the spotlight of 21st Century Denver real estate.

Perhaps unfortunately, many of the single-family homes that stood as part of the original neighborhood, were torn down in the 1950’s and 60’s, and replaced by car repair shops and parking lots. Today, new real estate development finds old garages and industrial buildings renovated for use by law firms and interior designers. Luxury rentals, condominiums, and small urban parks replace slabs of parking lot asphalt, putting the focus back on people. Fine restaurants, childcare centers, businesses and art galleries help emphasize the point. The artistic and culture atmosphere found in the Golden Triangle seems to spill over into the community’s new take on architectural style, and resident here are offered a lion’s share of choice. Median sales prices in the Golden Triangle real estate district come in around a quarter million dollars.

About Golden Triangle, Colorado

This area saw a scurry of residential projects in the late 1990’s, as open parking lots and garages, gave back the valuable real estate that an earlier emphasis on automobiles had taken away. Now with the recent multi-million dollar public investments in the Denver Arts Museum expansion, and the Denver Justice Center, the Golden Triangle real estate district has taken long strides toward a sense of community befitting it’s name.
