The Community of Hale

An exciting mix of housing, employment opportunities, neighborhood shopping and eating establishments best describes this post-WWII Community. Plans have been sketched for redevelopment of The University of Colorado Health Sciences Center, at Colorado and East Ninth Avenue, in the Hale real estate area. The plan, to be unveiled in August 2008, includes up to 1,200 residential units, 150,000 square feet of retail space and close to 500,000 square feet of office space. This redevelopment will undoubtedly become a new urban center for Hale and the surrounding neighborhoods of Hilltop, Crestmoor, Park Hill, and Montclair.

Hale real estate area features fine restaurants, upscale shopping, and creative living space in a pedestrian-friendly environment. Wide streets, open park spaces, and its close proximity to downtown Denver make this an ideal location for the young urban professional. Input from residents of the Hale real estate area has shown great interest in trying to assimilate the new Shea community into the surrounding neighborhood, on the other hand many of the existing residential structures, beautiful old Tudors, bungalows and ranches, have received facelifts to compliment newer buildings and more modern amenities the community will soon enjoy. Traffic is always an issue, but the studies have been done, and the issue addressed, with the extension of streets and additional parking spaces, reducing the congestion in this area. What was once a massive medical complex that most people drove around will soon be transformed into an inviting crossroads, linking neighbors, and neighborhoods. Construction is set to begin in January of 2009.
