Elyria-Swansea Homes for Sale
Elyria-Swansea is located in north Denver, and is bounded by 52nd Avenue, Brighton Boulevard, and 54th Avenue on the north, by the South Platte River on the west, by 38th Street and 40th Avenue on the south, and by Colorado Boulevard on the east.
Elyria and Swansea have their own unique histories, yet both neighborhoods share common historical features. The Denver Planning Commission is working hard in the Elyria-Swansea real estate area. They believe this to be an area that can accommodate mixed-use development and exceptional transportation facilities. Priorities are being placed on housing, mobility, land use, environmental sustainability, and the protection of Denver’s historical legacies.
Back in the late 1800’s, The Elyria-Swansea neighborhoods met with favor, due to their proximity to the South Platte River and their flat terrain. Such natural resources and topography, while unappealing to some, were highly valued by industry and commerce, and as a result economic opportunities expanded. Today the long standing real estate configuration of both communities remains pretty much the same: small sections of well maintained single family homes, interspersed with larger areas of commercial and industrial development.
Elyria-Swansea has benefited from strong organized leadership and mutual cooperation from its residential and business communities recently, as the first public workshop for the Elyria/Swansea neighborhood plan was held on in November 2007. Neighborhood residents met to discuss their hopes for the future of the community, which included recent changes to the FasTracks corridors slated to serve the neighborhood. If the good community cooperation and good planning continue, resident of Elyria-Swansea are sure to enjoy the benefits that good cooperation and good planning bring.
